Highlighting the importance of craftsmanship, deep knowledge of seafood species, and adherence to sustainability principles, Hayden described the extensive assessments required to achieve Master Fishmonger certification.

The shop receives daily deliveries from Scotland, supplemented by local boats, earning accolades such as Best Large Retailer North West 2023, and Fishmonger of the Year 2024 from both FSD and NFF.

Hayden’s success underlines the value placed by SGHA on elevating standards within fishmongering. This strategic shift ensures professionals like Hayden continue to set industry benchmarks, fostering consumer confidence in sustainably sourced and expertly prepared seafood.
